I am a novice at seed saving, but nearly 50% of my garden this year is my own seeds, and they are doing well. I am in growing zone 5b in Canada, so I try to plant accordingly.

Zone 5b. We live in a tiny sliver of England which lays claim to being 9a. Most of Britain is 5-7. What are your staples? The potatoes and French beans saved the day here.

My staples are potatoes, yellow beans, tomatoes and cucumbers.

I have had good growth with them for the 6 years I have been growing on this property.

I live on a town lot, and the start of my garden was overtop the far end of my driveway. I did a “lasagna garden” over the rocks. Layers of cardboard, yard waste, compost and dirt. It os small but prolific.
